They make minimum wage and spend months and years away from their families. They don’t do it for an hour on Sunday. They do it 24/7 often with lead, not footballs, coming in their direction.

I am an American who happens to be black. It is absurd and outrageous that wealthy black pro athletes and celebs are running around claiming that America is a hellhole of racism against them. Meanwhile, I caught an ad on TV for yet another major movie release featuring black actor Samuel L. Jackson. It is becoming increasingly challenging to name a blockbuster movie that has not featured Mr. Jackson. And yet, Mr. Jackson is extremely outspoken, spreading the narrative that Americans are racists. Blacks are only 12% of the U.S. population. Therefore, white Americans have made Mr. Jackson and America-hating black pro athletes extremely wealthy.

At a recent stop in Worcester, Massachusetts, this week, Kiss brought its roadie for the day onstage, along with other members of the military past and present, and led the entire arena in the Pledge of Allegiance, something the band has done before. However, this one had a bit of a special message to a particular NFL player — a not-so-subtle knock to the recent shenanigans by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, lead singer Paul Stanley said:
“You should remember, patriotism is always cool. Loving your country is always cool. Standing up, respecting and honoring our military is always cool. So, to show some respect between pick-throwing, we’re going to put our right hands over our hearts and why don’t we say the Pledge of Allegiance.”
Kaepernick was born to a destitute black mother in Milwaukee, who put him up for adoption. His father was a deadbeat from the neighborhood. In other words, he was born into the typical black environment, but unlike most black children, he was saved by a nice white couple who adopted him and raised him as their son. This got him into good schools, sports and a middle-class lifestyle. Later, nice white coaches helped him with his sports career, first at college and then in the NFL. Jim Harbaugh made Kaepernick a legitimate NFL player.
Kaepernick has decided to respond to this amazing run of good fortune, almost exclusively the result of generous white Americans, by giving his middle finger to his fellow Americans.

I’m a vet. Took the oath then. Took it again when hired in a government job. Taken the same oath twice. Never been relieved of said oath. To misquote Thomas Paine, my job is to protect my country from my government. That’s why the oath is to the Constitution, not the government.
It was old, dead, white men and their conception of a free society.
