And that is precisely what’s happening now – to all used cars. They are going up in value because people increasingly don’t like – or simply can no longer afford – new cars.
Part of the reason for the not-liking, arguably is because of the over-the-top electronic nannying that comes standard with practically all new cars. It has reached a degree of insufferability that is almost intolerable. Like having a horse fly constantly buzzing – just the right word – around your head.

Older cars lack “advanced driver assistance” technologies. They don’t attempt to countermand your steering or apply the brakes on your behalf or automatically shut off the engine every time the car stops moving. They don’t put the transmission into park because you tried to back up with the door open – in order to use your eyes rather than a camera and beeping electronics to see where you want to go.
Because of the steadily, inexorably increasing cost of government, necessarily folded into the price you pay. These are the cost of compliance with all of the many federal “safety,” “emissions” and “mileage” befehls – a German word for decree, which is what they are – and which manifest in cost-adding hardware such as smaller engines with turbochargers – to make up for their being smaller, in order to comply with federal MPG mandates.
And aluminum bodywork, which costs more to manufacture and which is more easily damaged and more expensive to repair (and so, insure), costing you more, several times over.

Americans deserve an open and neutral internet. Consumers and businesses need access to an open internet, but so do elected officials, journalists, and anyone who cares about the way that our country is run and has an opinion about government, culture, and education.
Big Tech engaged in blatant election rigging and voter suppression in the 2020 election. And it’s marginalizing and suppressing the views of half the country from the marketplace of ideas.
Its front group laughably claims that it’s suppressing half the country in the name of free speech.
The great news is, there are many amazing options to stay connected to each other and to the news. They aren’t all as evolved as the multi-billion dollar corporations you are used to, but most are competent technically and already have many users. Also, you may find that some of the platforms provide better functionality than the legacy media you are leaving.
Note that Parler is currently down due the racketeering and collusion of Amazon, Google, and Apple to violate the First Amendment rights of millions of Americans.

The detached terms that the new censorship is hiding behind, like ‘fighting disinformation’, are Orwellian euphemisms. Speech isn’t a bodiless abstraction. Disinformation implies an objective source of information. Nobody fights disinformation, they silence some people and empower others. They create authorities over speech and use that authority to perpetuate their own power structures.

• Twenty-nine XML HTTP requests, totalling about 500 KB
• Approximately one hundred scripts, totalling several megabytes — though it’s hard to pin down the number and actual size because some of the scripts are “beacons” that load after the page is technically finished downloading.
When ticks me off is going to a ‘news’ site and finding I’m running scripts for Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and others I’ve never heard of. Why? I’ve never even been on Twitter or Reddit (and have no wish to be). As does the author, I now use script and ad blockers. This breaks some websites. So be it, I won’t go to them anymore. I just want to read the articles, not have an “interactive” experience.

Well, then: shared commerce and finance keeps America knitted together in peace too, right?
But what happens when major corporations, especially those involved in finance and the free exchange of ideas in order to further the aims of participatory democracy, decide they’re going to effectively exile half the country out of the normal systems of the country?
What happens when half of America won’t buy bread from the other half of America, and half of America won’t issue a mortgage to half of America based on their failing a Political Test and Corporate Loyalty Oath?
What happens to the idea that peoples that trade together can’t go to war with each other then?
Invest in precious metals like lead, brass, and copper.

What do the driverless car and its accompanying freedom trade-off have to do with social media censorship? Perhaps everything. Government bureaucrats will not personally program the massive database upon which the driverless cars will depend. Instead, the database will rely upon the same tech-savvy talent pool that has revolutionized every aspect of mass communication in recent decades. The same ideology that controls our online communications will now be controlling the destinations of our driverless cars.
Do we expect the driverless car database to operate any more “fairly” than social media? Will we be surprised when conservatives find themselves locked out of the GPS database after voicing conservative opinions on social media? Facebook has no rational explanation for the censorship it now practices. The company ultimately apologized to Franklin Graham. But it ignores protests from its less famous users who find themselves blocked or censored.
We have no reason to believe that Big Tech will treat us any better once its GPS system controls our transportation.
Liberalism is just plain evil. I would never have thought of this. But then, I, and my fellow conservatives, believe in freedom and don’t go around trying to control your life.
